Pet feeder on a timer? Set an endpoint for HaloShort too
Once the automatic feeder's dispensing time is set, after-dinner plans gain one clear item. Sitting back down in the living room to watch short dramas, you might also want to say "stop when the time comes." But a feeder's timer and TV playback are two different things. To set an endpoint with HaloShort, first decide whether you want to stop the current episode or the next one.

If you want to wrap up when one episode ends, turn off autoplay first
HaloShort offers an option to turn off autoplay, which prevents the next episode from starting after the current one ends. It suits moments when you want to "decide after finishing this episode," but it isn't the same as setting a timer that stops at a specific hour and minute.
When you need to check on the food dispensed, refill water, or deal with the food bowl, if the current content is still playing, use pause. Even with autoplay off, the episode currently playing won't stop immediately because of that. Telling the two actions apart is more useful than repeatedly checking whether you pressed the wrong thing.
If you want to end by the clock, leave yourself a reminder you'll notice
When you need to leave the TV at a certain time, use whatever reminder method you normally use, then manually pause or end the viewing when the time comes. Don't describe this as HaloShort having a built-in scheduled stop, and don't make the pet feeder take on timekeeping duty for your drama watching. Each can simply run on its own schedule.
How long an episode actually runs depends on the current content. Playback speed can change the video's pace, but it can't guarantee you'll still finish on time once you add in browsing for shows, pausing, and buffering. If time is already short, saving candidates for next time is easier to arrange than rushing through one episode.
Households that haven't used it yet can search HaloShort in the Emotn store and check the Android compatibility requirements for their TV or box. On the first trial playback, locate the pause and autoplay options once, so that when you suddenly need to check on a pet later, you won't have to guess from scratch.
The TV itself has a scheduled shutdown—can I use that?
Check and set it according to that TV's instructions. This is a feature of the specific device and shouldn't be treated as an app feature that all HaloShort users have.
